What is IBLM
The International Board of Lifestyle Medicine (IBLM) is the global peak lifestyle medicine certification body that sets and maintains standards for assessment and credentialing of physicians and Doctorate/Masters level health professionals in evidence based Lifestyle Medicine globally.
Certification as an IBLM diplomate signifies specialized knowledge in the practice of lifestyle medicine and distinguishes a health professional as having achieved competency in lifestyle medicine. We are committed to the highest global scientific standards and innovating aggressively so that lifestyle medicine can meet its promise of being a very real part of the solution to the massive NCD epidemic that is overwhelming our planet.
Eligibility
Sign up for the IBLM exam, in your respective category with PALM
- For Physicians: You must be licensed to practice as a physician in Pakistan
- For Allied health professionals: You must hold a Masters or Doctorate degree in a health or allied health discipline
Prerequisites
Physician IBLM exam
30 hours of online/non-live CME
20 hours of in-person/live CME (approved CME sources by ACLM/IBLM)

- CMEs must be no older than 36 months from the date of the exam. 10 hours in-person CME is completed by attending the lifestyle medicine international conference conducted by PALM.
- Submit documentation of completion of your exam prerequisites 30 days before the exam date.
(CMEs from Lifestyle Medicine conferences immediately preceding an exam are exempt from the above 30-day rule)
Exam Details
- Exam duration: Maximum 4 hours
- Exam items/questions: 150 multiple-choice questions for Lifestyle Medicine physicians; 120 multiple-choice questions for Lifestyle Medicine allied health professionals
- Pass the exam which is graded “on the curve” based upon psychometric assessment after each exam. Exam results are available between 10 and 20 days after the exam
Maintenance of Certificate (MOC)
Consider signing up for the MOC pathway at the beginning of the following year in order to keep your certification current.
